§2 — VISA-SPECIFIC DOCUMENT SET
Build the visa-specific set based on [VISA_TYPE]. Use the rules below.

(e) Qualifications / trade certificates relevant to the role (with IQA / NZQA recognition where required)
(f) Skill-band evidence (skill level under ANZSCO + INZ Green List if applicable)
(g) Registration certificate where role is a regulated occupation (e.g. nursing — NCNZ; engineering — Engineering NZ; teaching — Teaching Council)
(h) English-language evidence (IELTS Overall 6.5 with no band <5.5, OR equivalent, for AEWV roles requiring it)

(g) Skill / NZ work experience — ANZSCO level + NZ employment records
(h) Police certificates from all countries lived in 12+ months in last 10 years (see §3 and Prompt 4)
(i) Medical: eMedical reference + Chest X-ray (INZ 1096) — see Prompt 4

(g) Relationship history narrative — 1,000-1,500 words

§3 — CHARACTER DOCUMENTS (mandatory for visas >24 months OR all Resident applications)
Police Certificates required from:
(a) Every country where applicant lived 12+ months CUMULATIVELY in the last 10 years
(b) Applicant's country of citizenship (regardless of residence)
(c) Issued within 6 months of application submission
For [RESIDENCE_HISTORY_5Y], compile list:
• India (India): PCC via Indian Mission / online ICA portal
• Each additional country listed: identify the issuing authority

Operations Manual A5.45 — applicant must declare any conviction, charge, or police investigation in last 10 years (worldwide), even if PCC clean.
§4 — HEALTH DOCUMENTS
Required for: Resident Visas; visas > 12 months; visas of any duration if applicant is from / has lived in a TB high-risk country
(a) eMedical reference number (panel physician completes the e-form; INZ accesses electronically)
(b) Chest X-ray Certificate (INZ 1096) — required for visas > 6 months for clients from TB high-risk countries (India is on the list)
(c) Medical Certificate INZ 1007 — paper form only used if panel physician unavailable
(d) Validity: medicals valid 3 months from completion date for visa purposes // 2026-05 — verify current INZ medical validity windows

§5 — DEPENDANT DOCUMENTS (if None indicates dependants)
For each dependant (spouse/partner + each child):
(a) Their own passport (biographical + stamp pages)
(b) Birth certificate
(c) Relationship evidence to principal applicant (marriage cert for partner; birth cert listing principal applicant for child)
(d) Custody documentation (if child of single parent / divorced parent — apostilled court order)
(e) Medical + PCC (PCC for dependants 17+; medical per visa stream rules)
(f) Photos (35mm × 45mm × 2)
(g) Each dependant's INZ Client Number if previously assigned
For minor children:
(h) Both parents' written consent — Schedule of Parental Authority — even if only one parent applying (Operations Manual E4.45)
(i) If parental consent unavailable: NZ Family Court orders OR statutory declaration explaining why (see Prompt 5)
§6 — TRANSLATIONS
Any document not in English MUST be translated:
• By a NAATI-certified translator (Australia/NZ) OR NZSTI-certified translator (NZ Society of Translators and Interpreters) OR an equivalent recognised translator with verifiable credentials
• Self-translation NOT accepted
• Translator must attach Statement of Competence

§7 — AUTHENTICATION / APOSTILLE
For documents originating from India (India): India is a Hague Apostille signatory (acceded 2005). MEA-apostilled documents are accepted by INZ.
For documents from non-Hague countries: full chain authentication required (Notary → State HCD → Foreign Ministry → NZ Embassy / Consulate).

§8 — INZ ONLINE LODGEMENT — FORMAT RULES
• PDFs: max 10 MB per file; max 50 MB per application total (Operations Manual A4.15 — verify current)
• Images: JPG/PNG up to 5 MB each, oriented correctly
• Filenames: descriptive — e.g. "[INZ_CLIENT_NUMBER]_passport.pdf", "[INZ_CLIENT_NUMBER]_birth_cert_translated.pdf"
• All originals must be available for INZ verification on request — keep client file for 7 years (IAA Code of Conduct 2014)
§9 — PRE-SUBMISSION CHECKLIST (adviser side)
□ All documents within validity windows (PCC 6mo, medical 3mo, photos 6mo)
□ All non-English documents translated + translator credentials attached
□ Apostille / authentication chain complete for inbound foreign docs
□ Dependant documents bundled per dependant (per Operations Manual A4.10)
□ Form INZ 1146 filed; IAA licence number on cover
□ Fee receipt + Immigration Levy where applicable
□ Client signed Letter of Engagement under IAA Code of Conduct 2014 cl.18
□ Copies retained on file (digital + secure cloud)
§10 — POST-LODGEMENT — RFE (Request for Further Information)
If INZ issues an "Information Request" under s.45 of the Immigration Act 2009:
• Standard response window: 14-30 days (officer discretion)
• Common asks: clarification of relationship evidence, additional PCC, updated medical, employer verification
• Failure to respond → decline under s.50
