- Do NOT pay IHS in the visitor application flow; the gov.uk form will not prompt for it
- If the client requires NHS treatment during the visit, charges apply (chargeable patient regime) - recommend private travel insurance
§2 - GOV.UK ONLINE APPLICATION

(a) Create a new applicant account (do not re-use a prior account if it was created for a different applicant)
(b) Confirm consent to data sharing for biometrics + medical exam if applicable
(c) Save reference number (UAN - Unique Application Number) - record on client file

Section 1 - Identity:
- Full name exactly as on [PASSPORT_NUMBER] biographical page
- DOB: [CLIENT_DOB]
- Nationality + passport details
- Other nationalities held (declare ALL - including OCI if held)
- Aliases / name changes (mention maiden name where relevant)
Section 2 - Address + family:
- Current Indian address with how long lived there
- Spouse / civil partner (full details, even if not travelling)
- Children (full details, even if not travelling)
- Parents (full names + nationality - required even if deceased)
Section 3 - Travel + visit:
- Intended arrival + departure dates
- Main purpose of visit (single best match: tourism / family visit / business / medical / other)
- UK address during visit (host address OR hotel)
- Cost of trip (be realistic; total)
- Who is paying (self / sponsor / employer)
Section 4 - Previous travel + UK history:
- All visits to UK in last 10 years
- All visits to other Five Eyes (CA / US / AU / NZ) + Schengen in last 10 years
- All visa refusals - any country, any visa type, any time (mandatory; concealment = deception)
- Any UK overstay, breach of conditions, deportation
Section 5 - Employment + income:
- Current employer / business / self-employment
- Monthly income in INR
- Annual income in INR
- Other regular income (rental, dividends)
Section 6 - Character + background:
- Criminal convictions / cautions - in India or anywhere (mandatory; concealment = deception)
- Civil court judgments
- Driving disqualifications
- War crimes / terrorism / extremist views (standard question - declare honestly)
- Genocide / crimes against humanity (standard - declare honestly)
Section 7 - Submit + book biometrics:
- Payment (UKVI fee + priority if chosen)
- Print and sign the application form OR e-sign in portal
- Book VFS Global appointment at [VFS_CITY]
§3 - DOCUMENT INDEX (organise pack in this order)
A. Personal documents:
1. Current Indian passport [PASSPORT_NUMBER] - photocopy of bio page + all used pages
2. Old passports if relevant (visa stamps within 10 years)

C. Employment / business ties:
11. Employment letter on company letterhead - addressed "To Whom It May Concern" - confirming: role, salary, length of employment, period of approved leave with return date
12. Office ID card photocopy
13. If business owner: registration certificate + GST + audited financials
D. Purpose evidence:
14. UK host invitation letter (if hosted) - including Self-funded's passport bio / BRP / Settled Status photo, UK address, immigration status, relationship, period of hosting, undertaking to accommodate
15. Hotel bookings (refundable - do not pre-pay non-refundable until decision)
16. Flight bookings (held PNR - do not pay until decision)
17. Event invitations (conference, wedding, graduation)
18. Itinerary - day-by-day plan
E. Family / dependants:
19. Marriage certificate (apostilled if recent)
20. Children's birth certificates
21. School enrolment letters (showing children will be in school during applicant's UK trip)
22. Spouse's employment / business proof (if spouse not travelling - reinforces ties)
F. Prior travel:
23. Copies of all prior visa stickers / entry stamps in passports
24. Copies of prior UK visas + entry stamps with returned-on-time evidence
G. Optional - representative:
25. SAR/OISC representative letter if [REPRESENTATIVE] applies (no specific UKVI form for entry clearance; client signs the application)
§4 - VFS GLOBAL APPOINTMENT AT [VFS_CITY]
VFS Global India centres include: Mumbai (BKC), New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Cochin, Jaipur, Pune, Goa, Jalandhar (verify current list at vfsglobal.co.uk).
Booking flow:
(a) Complete online application + pay UKVI fee + IHS (IHS will be skipped for Visitor)
(b) Receive VFS booking link in confirmation email
(c) Pay VFS service fee in INR
(d) Select appointment slot at [VFS_CITY]
(e) Print appointment letter
On the day:
- Arrive 15 min early
- Carry: passport, printed appointment letter, printed application form (signed), all original documents from §3, photocopies of all documents
- Biometrics taken (fingerprints + photograph)
- Documents scanned (or hand over for VFS to scan, depending on centre's process)
- Passport retained for return after decision (unless using Keep My Passport Active service for additional fee)
§5 - TB TEST (Mandatory for Indian applicants applying for > 6 months OR repeat visit pattern)
For 6 months:
- 6 months: TB Test NOT required for first-time visitor
- 2 / 5 / 10 year long-term visit visa: TB Test REQUIRED
- Repeat visit history > 6 months cumulative: caseworker may require

- Super Priority: next working day target
Decision routing:
- Application decided at Sheffield Decision Making Centre OR regional hub for Indian-stream applications

- Refused: refusal letter explains grounds; assess Administrative Review eligibility (slot 5) OR plan reapplication
