The reality of filing my own UAE visa

I want to work or settle in the UAE. I don't want to pay a typing-centre AED 3,500 just to upload my own documents.

I'm sitting in Kochi, Manila or Lahore with the ICP and GDRFA portals open in two browser windows because each emirate is different. The typing centre next to my employer's PRO quoted AED 3,500 for the Golden Visa cover work — and an extra AED 1,200 if I want help with the Emirates ID and Tawjeeh. The ICP self-service portal exists. I just don't know how to write a Golden Visa eligibility narrative that fits the Cabinet Resolution criteria.

This library gives me the UAE-specific Golden Visa eligibility narratives, Green Visa job-offer covers, employment-visa transfer letters, and family-sponsorship undertakings a PRO or a typing centre would prepare. Every prompt is anchored to the actual ICP / GDRFA / MOHRE rule set, not a 2021 expat-forum post.

AED 3,500 for typing centre. Visa fee alone is AED 1,200.

Golden Visa application fee: AED 2,800. Medical fitness: AED 350. Emirates ID: AED 370. Health insurance: AED 800/year. PRO / typing centre cover: AED 3,500. I'd rather have AED 3,500 toward my first month's rent in Bur Dubai (AED 4,500) than for someone to retype my CV into a Word doc.

Visa rejection on eligibility = re-apply from zero

If my Golden Visa gets rejected because the eligibility narrative didn't tie my salary, qualifications and skill category to the right Cabinet Resolution category, I lose the application fee, the medical fee, and my employer's HR has to start the standard 2-year employment-visa renewal cycle. The Golden Visa is supposed to be a 10-year residency reset — getting it right matters more than saving AED 3,500.

ICP vs GDRFA — which portal even applies to me?

ICP handles federal residency. GDRFA Dubai handles Dubai-emirate residency. Some Golden Visa categories run through ICP, others through GDRFA Dubai. My PRO never explains which is which. The library prompts already know which portal my Golden Visa category routes to — I just answer the intake.

ChatGPT cited a UAE rule that was overturned in 2022

I asked ChatGPT for the Golden Visa salary threshold and it gave me AED 30,000/month — that was the old rule. The current rule under Federal Decree-Law No. 29 of 2021 reduced the salary route to AED 25,000/month for specific specialist categories. If my cover letter cites a rule that's been overruled, the ICP officer's note records 'applicant referenced outdated regulation' before they read paragraph two.

Built for UAE-bound applicants

If you've called three different typing centres and gotten three different quotes, this is for you.

Skilled professionals applying for the Golden Visa or Green Visa, salaried workers transferring employers, family-visa sponsors bringing spouse and kids, students enrolling in a UAE university. You'd rather put AED 3,500 toward your Bur Dubai rent than into a PRO's mark-up for paperwork you can do yourself.

Golden Visa + Green Visa applicants

Filing your own Golden Visa (10-year) or Green Visa (5-year) under one of the Cabinet Resolution categories — specialists, talents, investors, freelancers. You need an eligibility narrative that ties your salary, qualifications and skill category to the right rule.

Family-visa sponsors

Sponsoring spouse, parents, kids on your existing residency. You need the financial undertaking, the relationship-proof pack, the housing-attestation cover, the dependant-medical declaration — all aligned with ICP or GDRFA family-visa criteria.

Student-visa and inter-university transfer applicants

Enrolling in a UAE university or transferring between institutions. You need the no-objection certificate (NOC) cover, the academic-progression statement, the financial-sufficiency letter.

Employer-transfer + Mainland-to-Freezone movers

Moving between employers, between Mainland and Freezone, or between emirates. You need a transfer cover, an updated labour-contract narrative, the MOHRE / Freezone authority interaction pack.

What you can write yourself.

Most visa files come down to four documents. Each prompt walks you through the questions, then drafts the page calibrated to United Arab Emirates visa office expectations.

SOPs

Statements of Purpose & cover letters

Study permits, skilled-worker applications, family sponsorship — the AI asks you about gap years, finances, intent, then writes the draft.

Refusals

Refusal-response & reconsideration drafts

Address every refusal reason point-by-point. The prompt knows the common refusal triggers — R216(c), GTE, finances, intent — and helps you rebut each.

Checklists

Document checklists & intake interviews

A complete checklist for your visa type. Bilingual where you need it. Each line cites the source so you can verify.

Smart Mode

Adaptive interview — answer questions, get the doc

Not a long form to fill. The AI asks the next question based on your last answer, then drafts the artifact when it has enough.

Honest answers — UAE applicant edition

The 6 questions every UAE applicant asks before paying.

Yes for most categories. ICP and GDRFA Dubai both run self-service applicant portals. The PRO / typing centre service is a convenience — it speeds up the file because they know the portal screens by heart, but they're not legally required for self-applied categories like the Golden Visa (specialist / talent / freelancer routes), Green Visa, or family sponsorship. The library gives you the structured intake and the eligibility-narrative drafting a PRO would otherwise charge AED 3,500 for. You upload the file yourself through the ICP / GDRFA portal. The portal fee (the actual government fee) remains the same.

Drafting tool — not legal advice

If you are submitting your own UAE residency, Golden Visa, or employment-permit application, please remember: AI drafts are starting points, not final answers. Read every line, verify all facts against current ICP and GDRFA guidance, and consider having a UAE-licensed legal consultant review your submission. Typing centres (Amer, Tasheel) process paperwork but cannot give legal advice. Errors on UAE filings can result in refusal, fines, or entry bans.

The UAE does not regulate immigration consultants as a separate profession. However, legal advice and representation are reserved for licensed advocates and legal consultants under Federal Decree-Law No. 27 of 2018 on the Legal Profession, regulated emirate-by-emirate (Dubai Legal Affairs Department, ADJD, etc.). Typing centres (Amer, Tasheel) are PRO-service providers, not legal advisers. MyVisaPrompts is a drafting tool only and does not constitute legal practice.
